Professor Stergios Logothetidis is a Professor in Physics, Material Science, Optics, Nanotechnology, Thin Film & Nanomaterials Technologies, and Nanomedicine, at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece.

He is a specialist in the fields of:

i) Nano- 2D/3D Organic and Printed Electronics: Development of active (organic semiconductors) & passive (transparent electrodes, barrier layers) materials and Fabrication of Organic Electronic Devices,
ii) Thin Films – Nanomaterials & Nanoengineering Technologies,
iii) Development of in-situ/real-time metrologies, and probing materials’ properties and processes,
iv) Development Spectroscopies, Optics, Electronic & Mechanical Properties of Thin Films & Nanobiomaterials,
v) Atomic level processes, Growth mechanisms of thin films and nanostructured materials,
vi) Computational Modelling -Theory-Simulation of Thin Film growth, Optical & Electronic properties of Nanobiomaterials
vii) Nanomedicine: Development of Functionalized polymers and Biocompatible materials, Devices, Drug Delivery Systems and 3D Bioprinting Technologies.

Prof. Logothetidis has extensive R&D experience and has been a Coordinator and participated in a plethora of European and nationally funded R&D&I projects (more than 130), with more than 100M€ budget in total. He is currently Coordinator of Smartline ( and CORNET ( EU H2020 Projects. His research activity is composed by over 930 papers and review articles in International Journals & Conferences. He is the author of over 350 peer-reviewed papers and has received over > 8000 citations holding an h-index=43. He has given more than 500 oral presentations as a Plenary, Keynote and Invited Speaker in International Conferences and Workshops. He is the Founder and Director of Nanotechnology Lab LTFN (, of the Post-Graduate Program “Nanosciences & Nanotechnologies” ( and of the Center of Organic & Printed Electronics-Hellas (COPE-H). He is the author of 6 books and 5 patents, and has served as the supervisor of more than 27 PhD students and 40 Post-Doctoral Researchers.

Prof. Logothetidis is a member of the MRS, E-MRS, OSA, EPS, ESRS, OE-A, Plastic Electronics, HPS, etc. He is the Founder and Coordinator of the Research & Innovation Network (NANONET), which counts more than 580 organizations Worldwide, and of the Hellenic Organic and Printed Electronics Industry Association (HOPE-A, The last fifteen years he organizes the NANOTEXNOLOGY –multi events ( taking place every year in Thessaloniki area.
