Professor Maria Dinescu is the Group Leader of “Photonic Processing of Advanced Materials” (ppam.inflpr.ro) at the National Institute for Lasers, Plasma and Radiation Physics” in Magurele (Bucharest), Romania. Her research interests are in laser materials processing, i.e. deposition and characterization of thin films and heterostructures (ferroelectric materials, multiferroics, multifunctional oxides and oxynitrides). She is also interested in soft material processing (MAPLE, LIFT, 2PP-DEW), laser patterning and printing, aiming at sensor applications and photocatalysis. She coordinated the research group in six international projects and in more than 30 national projects, and has published more than 200 papers in peer-reviewed journals.
She is editor of six books and author of eleven chapters published in books. She is editor of Applied Surface Science.
