Dr. Catalin Martin was born in Romania, in 1973. He received a BS in Physics from the University of Bucharest in 1996, and obtained his PhD degree in Physics from Clark University (USA) in 2005. Dr. Martin held postdoctoral associate positions at the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory, Florida-USA (2005-2007), Ames Laboratory, Iowa-USA (2007-2009) and at the University of Florida, Florida-USA (2009-2013). Since 2013, he has been an assistant professor of Physics at Ramapo College of New Jersey, New Jersey, USA.
Dr. Martin is an experimentalist with expertise in low temperature-high magnetic field experiments and in low temperature infrared spectroscopy. His research interests are focused on electronic, magnetic and optical properties of materials, such as superconductors, spin-orbit semiconductors, ceramics and transparent conductive oxides.
