Over ten years experience in the growth, fabrication and analysis of materials and devices at both the nano and micro scale. This includes experimental methods for nanomaterial growth, the deposition of thin films, semiconductor device fabrication and their characterisation.
Has worked on thin film transistors incorporating siicon films and metal oxides (in particular zinc oxide (ZnO)); low temperature growth of ZnO nanostructures and worked on device electronics based on nanowires and carbon nanotubes with the project partners coming from the UK (De Montfort University, University of Cambridge), Austria (University of Vienna) and Italy (University of Pisa). Now has a focus on developing material systems for studying interaction at the nano-bio interface. This has application in antimicrobials, coatings for neural electrodes and drug discovery/biosensors for cancer detection.
