Heraklion is the administrative capital of the Crete island, being the most popular region. In Heraklion area, there are many places telling about the history of city and island that gave birth to gods. The center of Minoan civilization is located 5 km south of Heraklion, the Palace of Knossos being considered as the seat of King Minos and is related to the myth of the Labyrinth, the Minotaur, and the story of Daidalos and Ikaros (https://www.heraklion.gr/en).
Technological Educational Institute (TEI) of Crete is a Public Educational Institution, part of the Hellenic Tertiary Education. The lectures and the board during ICPAM-12 and PAMS-3 will be at School of Health and Welfare Services and at the Sport and Conference Center “Markos Karanastasis” of TEI of Crete, Heraklion.
Heraklion International Airport (Nikos Kazantzakis Airport) is located about 5 km (3 miles) east of the city.
From Heraklion airport to TEI of Crete is possible to take:
- the blue bus no.12 will bring you directly to the TEI of Crete (28 min),
- a taxi: it costs approximately 15 euros and takes approximately 15 minutes.
